Education Commissioner John King will hold his Westchester forum on the Common Core this Monday. We don’t have a time or place yet. But his first forum, today in Albany, is from 4-7 p.m.
We’ll pass along the details as soon as we have them.
We should learn more from the Albany forum how these things are going to work. Of course, King didn’t like the way things went at a recent forum hosted by the NYS PTA and cancelled that group’s remaining meetings, bringing him a lot of criticism.
the state Ed Department has scheduled six forums around the state after Westchester.
I’m confident in saying that a lot of parents and teachers will show up on Monday—wherever the forum is—with questions they’ll want to ask the commissioner. Will they get the chance? Our Albany bureau plans to staff today’s forum. More to come.
