The Eastchester School District has selected Darrell Stinchcomb to be the new principal for the Greenvale School.
Stinchcomb is currently the principal of Church Street School in the White Plains School District. He was chosen from more than 100 applicants.
“Mr. Stinchcomb impressed all of those who interviewed him during this process, and I am confident his innovative, intelligent, dynamic, and child-centered approach to leadership will take Greenvale School to another level of prominence,” said
Superintendent Walter Moran in a statement.
Stinchcomb said, “I am so excited to be joining the Eastchester School District and community. I look forward to working with the faculty, staff, parents and students at Greenvale to continue building on the strong academic foundation and traditions. It is my life’s work to help facilitate a well-rounded elementary education for all of the students.”
Stinchcomb has been the assistant principal at George Washington Elementary School in White Plains and the assistant principal at the Inwood Intermediate School in the New York City, supervising the special education and social studies programs. He has also taught 4th and 5th grade. He received his B.A. in Education from Morehouse College and a M.A. in Educational Administration from New York University.
Former Greenvale principal Theresa Sullivan retired in June.
