The state budget includes a 6 percent increase in school aid, about $1.6 billion more than in the current year, to a total of $23.5 billion.
And this afternoon, the state Assembly released the details of aid by district. The Legislature is expected to vote on the plan later today.
Estimates on how much each district would receive hasn’t been released as Cuomo threatened to hold up the budget without reforms. He introduced his budget proposal Jan. 21, and schools historically get preliminary aid figures so they can plan their budgets for a public vote in May.
